Get fit and lose fat doing kettlebell workouts

By Chris Rivers

Kettlebell workouts have been around for a long time, and in many ways they are a lot better than conventional dumbbells. They may not seem all that different from most traditional weights, but they are actually better for certain exercises. This is largely due to the design of the kettlebells themselves, not to mention how they were traditionally used.

Better Motion Dynamics is a key feature. Using kettle bells is actually better than using dumbbells. Because of the unique design of this equipment, the weight is distributed above your writs. When using dumbbells however, the weight is distributed on the central part of your writs. The position of the weight on your hands is very important because it has something to do with motion dynamics
of your workout. Many kettle bell exercises involve wide swinging which you can't actually do effectively using dumbbells.

Kettlebell workouts closely resemble real world workouts, such as shoveling and moving large quantities of heavy objects or boxes which could easily be seen in the workplace.

Superior versatility is a major bonus. When you work out the different parts of your body, you certainly need the right equipment to do so. As said earlier kettle bells have the edge of over other gym equipment because of its unique design. Because of that, there is a wide variety of kettlebell workouts that can be done and target virtually all parts of the body. Used correctly the KB provides a total body workout as it can target the lower and upper extremities of the body. You will also be continually developing your core strength and cardio.

Another exercise you can add to a swing routine is the dead lift. This is similar to a barbell dead lift, but is less dangerous and is just as beneficial if not more beneficial aerobically. Start with your kettlebell between your legs and squat down. Make sure your core and knees are engaged and lift yourself up so you are standing up straight again.

However, the primary reason why kettlebells are such great exercising tools is because they offset the body's center of gravity. What this means is that your body is forced to work harder in order to maintain its balance. This has the positive effect of causing several muscles groups in your body to work together every time you lift the KB.

Consider for a moment your leg's stabilizer muscles. By using kettle bells, they will force you to rely on these muscles to maintain balance. This also results in improving the muscles in your arms, abs and glutes. So if you can add a set of kettlebell ballistics exercises to complement what you're used to doing then you'll have a great body in no time.
