As can be imagined, toxicity has increased in much greater levels than previously anticipated due to environmental pollution. It appears that, as a country develops, so does its capacity to pollute the environment. Many of the health problems people face today may be traced to some form of toxicity or another. These pollutants when inhaled can cause imbalance in the body and disrupt the bodies ability to rid itself of these harmful chemicals. Although the cause of these toxicity is not alien to us, nonetheless, we seem incapable of managing the situation because of the difficulty of balancing environmental interest with economic interest. It should however be noted that not every toxic chemical or fume we inhale comes out as can be observed in those that smoke. It begs
the question, how do we get rid of most, if not all of the chemicals and pollutants we ingest?
It is axiomatic to state that even our food chain is not spared. If we are to believe the maxim that we are what we eat, then we can safely (or unsafely) conclude that we are a compendium of multiple chemical build up.
Afterall, we are what we eat and inhale. So then, how do we mitigate the damage from these chemicals and pollutions since it is impossible for us to get rid of ourselves the way the Center for Disease Control would get rid of a polluted or contaminated wild stock?
Some common additives are Red Dye 40 which is suspected to cause certain birth defects and possibly cancer. Caramel is a famous flavoring and coloring agent that can cause vitamin B6 deficiencies. It can cause certain genetic defects and even cancer. Saccharin causes toxic reactions and allergic responses, affecting skin, gastrointestinal tract and heart. It may also cause tumors and bladder cancer. And these are just to name a few.
It is impossible to completely eliminate toxins from our body or environment even when we eat right, don't smoke or drink alcohol, and minimize our exposure to environmental toxins and chemically treated water. That is because, not all causes of pollution and chemical contamination are fully known to man, and as long as we breathe we are susceptible to these contaminants. What we need to do however is to equip our body to fight these chemicals for us and accelerate their egestion from the body. There are many ways the body can be detoxified using common detoxifiers and herbal teas purchased from your local health store or the internet.
Vitamins and Supplements have been found to be very effective in getting rid of excess toxins from the body through the liver and kidney mechanisms. Take for example Vitamin E. In an article published by Science Direct, researchers discovered that Vitamin E has some beneficial effects on the kidney by providing protection from certain metals (though rats were used in the study).
